From the verb-noun dal in its sense of "continue, remain".
Usage notes
When used with adjectives, yn dal is followed by the linking particle yn:
- Mae hi'n dal yn beryglus ar y ffordd tu allan. ― It is still dangerous on the road outside.
When used with verb-nouns, yn dal is followed by the preposition i:
- Mae hi'n dal i helpu gyda'r ffermio. ― She is still helping with the farm work.
