Etymology
From yalın (“bare, naked”) remodeled after göyərçin (“dove; dove-coloured”) and sarışın (“yellowish, blond”), where the suffix -çin/-şın signifies color nuances.[1] Possibly a borrowing from Ottoman Turkish يالچين (yalçın, “smooth and bare”).
