Etymology

From yalın (bare, naked) remodeled after göyərçin (dove; dove-coloured) and sarışın (yellowish, blond), where the suffix -çin/-şın signifies color nuances.[1] Possibly a borrowing from Ottoman Turkish يالچين (yalçın, smooth and bare).
