waggle dance (plural waggle dances)

  1. A dance in the form of a figure eight performed by the honey bee in order to communicate the direction and distance of patches of flowers, water sources, etc. that are more than 100 metres distant from the hive.

      Honeybees, with their intricate social behaviour and waggle dance, have long been considered smarter than the average bug.
