Inherited from Sanskrit विभक्ति (vibhakti) or reconstituted as vi- + bhaj (to divide) + -ti. In the grammatical senses, a semantic loan from Sanskrit विभक्ति (vibhakti).

      Imperfect and aorist: These tenses are also for every time whenever in conjunction with 'mā'. Exx: Mā gamā; mā vacā; mā gamī; mā vacī.
