viðskeyttur boðháttur m (genitive singular viðskeytts boðháttar, nominative plural viðskeyttir boðhættir)

1. (grammar) the imperative mood with the pronouns þú sg (“you”) or þið pl (“you”) suffixed to the stem of a verb, e.g.:

   far (“go!”) + þið pl (“you”) + út (“out”) → Farið út! pl (“get out!”)

   keyr (“drive!”) + þú sg (“you”) + mig út í búð (“me to the store”) → Keyrðu mig út í búð sg (“drive me to the store”)
