usuc
Romanian
Etymology 1
see usca.
Etymology 2
Unknown. Possibly from the verb usca or alternatively from Latin sucus, contaminated with the former (see also suc, which may be a borrowed doublet). Another theory suggests an Ancient Greek root *οἴσυκος (*oísukos) < οἴσυπος (oísupos).
