      In the Wangjiashan section, proximal to the plateau, sedimentary rocks are deformed and lacustrine deposition is much more frequently interrupted by fluvial deposits. After a depositional hiatus the uncomformable Jishi Formation, a boulder conglomerate, was deposited.
