Inherited from Ottoman Turkish تصادفاً (tesādüfen),[1] from Arabic تَصَادُفًا (taṣādufan) adverbial accusative of تَصَادُف (taṣāduf, “coincidence”), verbal noun of تَصَادَفَ (taṣādafa, “to meet by chance”).[2]
