Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish تخمین ایتمك (taḫmin itmek, etmek, to estimate),[1][2] from تخمین (taḫmin), equivalent to compound of tahmin (a guess, an estimation) + etmek (to do, to make).[3]
