Etymology

Non-Sino-Vietnamese reading of Chinese 詞彙 (SV: từ vị). The character 彙 (vị) was confused with the character 暈 (vận), and the character 暈 (vận) then became "vựng" through the coda and vowel shift (-n > -ŋ characteristic of Southern Vietnamese).
