Cognate with Situ tarpâm (ice), Chinese (OC *pŋrɯŋ, “ice”).[1][2] Possibly cognate to Tangut 𗎈 (*ꞏwọ¹, ice) or 𘒓 (*par¹, to congeal).[3]
