stavgång
Swedish
Etymology
From stav (“staff, pole, ski pole”) + gång (“walking”), calque of Finnish sauvakävely. This training exercise was developed in the 1980s, but SAOB also mentions this word as used since 1652 as a now obsolete synonym to rågång (“borderline between properties and parishes”).
