snusförnuftig

Swedish

Etymology

snus + förnuftig. Further origin disputed. Theories include that the first compound is due to the "dryness" of snus (compare snustorr) or the perceived characteristics of people who use snus. Other theories posit that the first compound is due to the relationship with Proto-Germanic *snūtaz (snout), compare terms like näsvis and lägga näsan i blöt.
