signeren

Dutch

Etymology

From Middle Dutch signieren, which was borrowed from Old French signier (and adapted using the Dutch verbal suffix -eren), but with its spelling re-borrowed from modern French signer.

  • (file)

Verb

signeren

  1. (transitive) to sign (mark with one's signature)
    Synonyms: tekenen, ondertekenen

Usage notes

  • In formal usage, this word can be used for any act of marking with a signature.
