sidemål n (definite singular sidemålet, indefinite plural sidemål, definite plural sidemåla or sidemålene)

  1. (education) The form of written Norwegian that is not the primary one (hovedmål) used by a pupil.
    Hvis man har nynorsk som hovedmål, vil sidemålet være bokmål.
    If one has Nynorsk as main language, bokmål will be the secondary language.
