shkep
Albanian
Etymology 1
From kep. Beside shqep, an Albanian formation with the intensive prefix sh-, from Proto-Albanian *skaipa. Compare Old Norse skífa (“to split”), Old Frisian skīvia (“to divide”)[1] and perhaps English shape.
Etymology 2
A parallel form is shkrep, continuing Proto-Albanian *krepa (“body”), cognate to Sanskrit कृप् (ḱṛp, “shape, beautiful appareance”), Latin corpus (“body”), Old High German hrēf (“belly”). Similar sense development in Germanic (compare Gothic galeiks (“like”), from leik (“body”)).[2]
