Etymology
From triplete (“treble”) and doblete changing tri- (“tri-”) or triple (“triple”) and doble (“double”) for sexto (“six”). Term invented in 2009 to describe what the Spanish football club FC Barcelona did, winning 6 titles in the calendar year 2009: La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de España (Spanish Super Cup), the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.[1]
