  • Cognate to Gheg Albanian qeski and qyski.
  • Related to Albanian qysq (dibble) (Gheg Albanian qysk (id), qesk (id)). Probably a loan from Turkish küski (lever, staff).[2]
  • Probably related to qesas (I cut).
