qalbieni
Maltese
Etymology
From qalb + -ieni, from Arabic قَلْب (qalb), perhaps after the expression قَوِيُّ القَلْبِ (qawiyyu l-qalbi, “courageous”, literally “strong of heart”).
The same notion exists in many languages, compare German beherzt, English take heart, etc. Compare also the etymology of courage.

Adjective
qalbieni (feminine singular qalbiena or qalbenija, plural qalbiena or qalbenin)
- courageous; brave
