orthographize (third-person singular simple present orthographizes, present participle orthographizing, simple past and past participle orthographized) (transitive)
- To spell correctly or according to usage.
- To correct in regard to spelling.
- 1871, John Earle, The Philology of the English Tongue:
- "In the" coalesced into "ith", which modern reaction has orthographized to "i' th".
- To devise a writing system for a language.
