Etymology
From Late Latin octapla, from Ancient Greek ὀκταπλά (oktaplá), neuter plural of ὀκταπλοῦς (oktaploûs, “eightfold”), from ὀκτα- (okta-, “octa-: eight”) + -πλοος (-ploos, “-fold”), used as the title of such an edition by Origen.
