  1. (biology) The arrangement or distribution of veins (nerves), as in the leaves of a plant or the wings of an insect.
    • 1891, George Bowdler Buckton, Monograph of the British Cicadae or Tettigidae, volume 2, page 81:
      Some examples are very dark in colour, and then the pale neurations on the elytra become almost obsolete.
