mbath

Albanian

Etymology

Uncertain. Possibly a derivation in mb- from a verb from a Proto-Indo-European root *h₃ew-ḱ-, an extension of *h₃ew- (to put on clothes).[1] Alternatively derived from Proto-Indo-European *bʰosós (barefoot),[2] though the -th would be unexpected.[1]

Verb

mbath (aorist mbatha, participle mbathur)

  1. to wear, put on (footwear)
    Antonym: zbath
