From Arabic مَجُوسِيّ (majūsiyy, “of or related to Zoroastrians”), مَجُوس (majūs, “Magians, Zoroastrians”), from Aramaic 𐡌𐡂𐡅𐡔 (mgwš), from Old Persian 𐎶𐎦𐎢𐏁 (maguš).[1]
