     Wielu mieszkających w Rzeszowie Żydów zasymilowało się z Polakami, większość jednak mimo tego, że utożsamiali się z Polską i tym samym z miastem nad Wisłokiem, zachowała swoją odrębność, czego dowodem był charakterystyczny strój, język, którym się między sobą posługiwali i przede wszystkim religia. Rejsze (lub Rajsze), jak w języku jidysz nazywali Rzeszów, stał się dla nich domem, Małą Ojczyzną.

     Many of the Jews who lived in Rzeszów assimilated with the Poles, but most, despite the fact that they identified with Poland and thus with the city on the Wisłok River, retained their distinctiveness, as evidenced by their characteristic dress, the language they spoke among themselves, and, above all, their religion. Reyshe (or Rayshe), as they called Rzeszów in Yiddish, became their home, their Little Homeland.
