locally indicable

English

Adjective

locally indicable (not comparable)

  1. (algebra, of a group) Such that each of its nontrivial, finitely generated subgroups maps homomorphically onto .

Usage notes

  • A group G is locally X-indicable, for any class of groups X, if each of G's nontrivial, finitely generated subgroups maps homomorphically onto some group in X. G is locally H-indicable, for any group H, if each of G's nontrivial, finitely generated subgroups maps homomorphically onto H. Thus, locally indicable is synonymous with locally ℤ-indicable.
