From Middle English legement; equivalent to ledge + -ment.

ledgment (plural ledgments)
- (architecture) A stringcourse or horizontal suit of mouldings, such as the base mouldings of a building.
- The development of the surface of a body on a plane, so that the dimensions of the different sides may be easily ascertained.
