khúc
Vietnamese
Etymology
Sino-Vietnamese word from 曲.
When used in isolation, khúc always means "piece, section", a notion derived from "song, tune" and "piece [of music]". The adjectival sense "bent, curved" is only found in some compounds, such as gấp khúc.
