Etymology

From Proto-Tocharian *kauwärṣän (whence also Tocharian A keyurṣ), from Proto-Indo-European *gʷow-wr̥sen- (bull), from *gʷṓws (cow), the same source as keᵤ. Cognate with Sanskrit गोवृष (govṛṣa).
