Etymology
Borrowed from Hokkien, suggested to be from 雞牢/鸡牢 (ke-tiâu, “chicken coop”) by Manuel (1948). See also 雞桃/鸡桃 (ke-thô, “chick”). Compare Kapampangan katio and Sambali tatyaw.
