interageren

Dutch

Etymology

Two possibilities:

  • Back-formed from interactie, by analogy with other verbs derived from Latin agō, particularly ageren (compare actie), reageren (compare reactie).
  • Derived directly from a postclassical Latin interagō, but while this verb does exist in contemporary Latin it is unclear if it was current at the time this Dutch word was coined. This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term. lots of scanno's on google books, can't tell if the word was actually used, but in contemporary usage it exists - but likely as a calque from the mother tongue of the user

By surface analysis, inter- + ageren.
