Etymology

Probably from gyanó, an earlier variant of gyanú (“suspicion”) +‎ -a (3rd-person singular possessive suffix) +‎ -n (case suffix) +‎ -t (locative suffix). The sequence of changes: gyanó ― gyanóján ― gyanaján ― gyanán + -t for emphasis.[1][2]
