Etymology
Learned borrowing from Old Anatolian Turkish گوركم (görkäm, “worth seeing, flashy, beautiful”, adjective), from Old Anatolian Turkish [Term?] (“görk”). Related to görmek (“to see”). Compare Azerbaijani görkəm. The word had fallen out of use before being revived during the language reform.
