From Proto-Albanian *plakska, from Proto-Indo-European *plek-. Cognate to Lithuanian plókščias (“flat”), Proto-Slavic *ploskъ (“id”), *ploxъ (“flat, bad, evil, poor”),[1] Old High German flasca (“flask”), English flask.
