Cognate of Icelandic flakka, Norwegian Nynorsk flakke. Likely related to Ancient Greek πληγή (plēgḗ), Latin plaga. Compare origin of flaxa, fläkta, flagg. See also Gothic 𐍆𐌻𐍉𐌺𐌰𐌽 (flōkan).
