  1. A form of nematocyst shaft that is dilated at its extremity.
    • 1953, F. S. Russell, The Medusae of the British Isles, page 94:
      She found that differences in size and structure of the holotriches separated Chrysaora from Dactylometra, and also that there were considerable differences between the euryteles of these species.
