Etymology

Either from the partitive singular of (dialectal) enä, or alternatively from enä + -ki(n), through reduction (*enä-ɣi(k) > enäi > enää); the clitic -kin (from earlier *-ɣik) may have developed a comparative sense.

  • IPA(key): /ˈenæː/, [ˈe̞næː]
  • Rhymes: -enæː
  • Syllabification(key): e‧nää
