ekär
Tocharian A
Etymology
From Proto-Tocharian *āikäre (whence also Tocharian B aikare), of uncertain further origin. Possibly from the intensive prefix *e(n)- + *iäkre, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₁eg- (“to lack”). If so, cognate with Latin egeo, etc.
