Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *driθ-, from Proto-Indo-European *gʰrisdʰ- (“(kind of) cereals; barley”). Possibly cognate with Ancient Greek κριθή (krithḗ, “barley”) and Old High German gersta (“barley”). Probably an old Wanderwort.[1]
