From Old Norse drekka. Due to apocope, the final vowel is shortened while writing.

drekk' (present tense drekk, past tense drakk, present participle drukke or drokke)

  1. (dialectal, Trøndelag, Northern Norway) alternative form of drikke (“to drink”) (In case of use of "kløyvd infinitiv" it is an e-infinitive verb, because it's got an apocope. The distinction between the two types of verbs in Nynorsk is not used officially after the 2005 spelling-reform)
    • 2017, Beist (lyrics and music), “Ståle Støggsterk”:
      Hei det e på tide å drekk sæ foill no
      Oh, it's about time to get drunk now (literally "to drink yourself full now" )
