Old Catalan
Etymology
From Latin ducentōs, accusative case of ducentī. In modern Catalan, replaced by dos-cents (“two hundred”), a compound of dos (“two”) + cents (“hundreds”). Cf. the replacement of Old Catalan treents (“three hundred”) with modern tres-cents.
