Etymology
From codladh (“slepp”) + grifín, a word found only in this compound, related somehow to driúraic, gliúragáin, Middle Irish collad gribracach, as well as griofadach (“tingling”) and obsolete driubhragán or griobhragán (“pricking pain”).[3][4]
