From centrāls (“central”) +‎ -izēt (with centrāls from centrs (“center”) +‎ -āls). Clearly not formed as such in Latvian, but borrowed and adapted from other European languages.

1. to centralize (to put together, to concentrate in one place, in one system, under one authority)

   centralizēt valsts pārvaldi ― to centralize the administration of the state

   centralizēta sistēma ― centralized system

   smadzeņu centrā nonākušie sāpju impulsi netiek precīzi centralizēti ― the incoming pain impulses are not really centralized in the center of the brain
