From Proto-Albanian *bruma, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰréwmn̥, from the root *bʰrew(h₁)- (compare Old English Burme (“leaven”), Latin fermentum (“leaven, yeast”)), from *bʰrewh₁- (“to boil, seethe”) (compare English brew).[1]
