Etymology
Borrowed from Latin archetypum, from Ancient Greek ἀρχέτυπον (arkhétupon, “pattern, model”) neuter of ἀρχέτυπος (arkhétupos, “first-moulded”), from ἀρχή (arkhḗ, “first, origin”) + τύπος (túpos, “sort, type, press”).
