Backformation from Zeeuws (“Zealandic”) by analogy with pairs of the sort of Italiaans (“Italian”, adjective), Italiaan (“Italian”, noun). Zeeuws is indeed equivalent to zee (“sea”) + -s (“-ish”) with retention of the -w- in Proto-Germanic *saiwiz (“sea”).
