     Yuyang District is located in northern Shaanxi Province where the Maowusu Desert and Loess Plateau meet along the upper reaches of the Wuding River. It is named after the fact that elm was widely planted along this ancient border area. It is the political, economic, and cultural center of Yulin Municipality.
