From Proto-Afroasiatic *nuuk, found in causative Egyptian snq (“to suckle”) and Somali nuug / dhuuq (“to suck”), Rendille nuuga (“to suck”), Afar angu (“breast”), Jiiddu eenge (“breast”), Saho angu (“breast”), Iraqw isaangw (“nipple, breast”), Sidamo unuuna (“breast”), and possibly Hausa nono (“breast”).
