Ancient Greek
Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *h₁ludʰét (“to arrive”).[1]
Usage notes
Merged with ἔρχομαι (érkhomai, “I go”) to give its aorist stem. The aorist imperative still has the connotation "come here!," while the present imperative still has the connotation "go away!."
