Prendë, e Premtë and Përende derive from Proto-Indo-European *pers-é-bʰ(h₂)n̥t-ih₂ (“she who brings the light through”), akin to Ancient Greek Περσεφάττα (Persephátta), variant of Ancient Greek Περσεφόνη (Persephónē).[1]
